The Graduate Student Assistant position is located in the Office of Admissions at the College of Law. The UNT Dallas College of Law is meeting our goal to widen access to legal education. We believe a community’s lawyers should be as diverse as the communities they serve. We are committed to serving a wide range of students who have the potential to be successful lawyers.

Position Summary

•Answer the Admission Office phone line at UNT Dallas College of Law.
•Serve as Admissions representative at the reception desk in Office of Admissions, UNT Dallas College of Law.
•Serve students and guests who arrive at the law school Admissions Office with questions about Admissions and direct the students/guests to the appropriate resource.
•Answer basic questions that prospective students have about the application and admission process for UNT Dallas College of Law.
•Receive application documents that prospective students deliver to the Office of Admissions at UNT Dallas College of Law.
•Assist with processing admission office correspondence with prospective students (mail and email).
•Attend College of Law admission staff meetings and events as required.
•Assist with Recruitment, Admission and Orientation events as needed for College of Law.
•Manage social media account(s).
•Conduct tours of UNT Dallas College of Law for prospective and admitted students.
•Perform other assignments as needed

Minimum Qualifications

Currently enrolled UNT Dallas, UNT Dallas College of Law, HSC or UNT student in good standing and making satisfactory progress toward completion graduate degree or certificate program. Applicants must possess the following:

•Excellent customer service skills, as well as effective oral and written communication skills
•Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
•Thorough knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment.
•Demonstrated ability to complete tasks independently.
•Proficiency to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data, and to prepare reports from such records.
•Good interpersonal skills and ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural and social backgrounds.
•Responsible, reliable and punctual.
•Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work of others.
•Considerable knowledge of academic requirements and policies, or of administrative procedures relative to the area of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

•Currently enrolled student at UNT Dallas College of Law.

•Experience working or volunteering in a university admissions department or similar department.
