1.Education or Training: High School graduate or equivalent
2.Ability to successfully complete a specified law enforcement training program within 1 year of hire
3.Valid Division of Motor Vehicles operator’s license
4.Ability to obtain and maintain certification in CPR and First Aid
5.Must be 21 years of age and a U.S. Citizen
1.Associate degree or higher in criminal justice or related discipline.
2.Current Virginia law enforcement certification or law enforcement certification from another state.
3.Experience in campus law enforcement.

1.Completion of the Criminal Justice Basic Police Academy or completed within one year of hire.
2.Must be able to pass a comprehensive background investigation which includes reference checks, fingerprinting, and sex offender registry check DMV driving records.
3.Must be able to pass a psychological evaluation, drug screening and medical examination.
4.Ability to successfully complete a specified law enforcement training program within 1 year of hire.
5.Ability to perform essential physical requirements of the job to include during inclement weather conditions
6.Rotating shifts with holidays and weekends duty will be required.
7.This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position may be subject to overtime during high peak times, etc. as directed and approved by the supervisor.
