Responsibilities
  • Supervises the work of the Admissions Operations team with responsibility for quality and quantity of work.
    • Manages the work of the operations team for the department. In coordination with the management team, sets and executes operational and logistic priorities for operations.
    • Manages the application cycle. Participates in the development of operational priorities, plans and procedures to meet department goals. This includes the areas of application processing, document management, advising and prospective student communication, and materials development.
    • Organizes the staffing and training of operations staff.
    • Works with Haas departments in the execution of marketing, admission, yield and matriculation needs.
    • Coordinates department activities with UCB Graduate Division and other campus entities.
    • Evaluates and makes decisions regarding applicant materials, acts as resource and process owner for team and department. Contributes to the revision of policies and procedures, operational guidelines and documentation.
    • Researches and resolves admissions issues and discrepancies that arise.
    • Ensures high level of customer service to external and internal stakeholders.
    • Responsible for personnel-related actions, as well as the selection, development and evaluation of staff to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
    • Train and mentor a Team Lead to support with supervision and free up bandwidth for additional strategic initiatives.
  • Manage FTMBA application and enrollment systems:
    • Manage databases, CRM, survey tools, webinar and chat tools, and other vendors and suppliers such as Slate, GMAC, ETS, ReVera, and Turnitin.
    • Oversee department data management. Prepare reports and analysis of data and activities as needed.
    • Work with management team on system development needs, maintenance and project planning and execution.
  • Serve as FTMBA operations lead on crossdepartment and cross-campus projects and initiatives:
    • Partner with Haas Technology Solutions, particularly as it relates to Slate operations and enhancements.
    • Partner with Graduate Division regarding new admission policies, establish best practices for ongoing maintenance and changes.
    • Business function lead for SIS development. Determine admission policies and procedure with SIS and set best practices to be leveraged by other departments.
    • Serve as FTMBA lead for (pending) new application system. Work across admissions teams to scope and implement.
    • Set direction for admit onboarding process with counterparts in Student and Academic Services to ensure seamless transition from admit to student.
    • This includes establishing communication and technical functionalities (email set-up, Haas logins, SIDs, etc).
  • Performs typical admissions recruitment responsibilities, including serving as the bridge between the operations and admissions committee teams.
    • Read and evaluate applications for admission to the FTMBA program.
    • Represents FTMBA program to prospective students, corporations, and alumni through domestic and/or international presentations.
    • Participate in other admissions recruiting and yield events, as necessary.
  • Career Development
    • Attend classes which will enhance expertise in job areas.
    • Serve on departmental and campus-wide committees as appropriate.
    • Participate in activities that enhance the campus community and/or larger community to further University service.
    • Maintain knowledge of the unit and campus business processes in order to provide backup to other support staff in the unit.

  • Knowledge of or can quickly learn common University-specific computer application programs.
  • Strong skills in short term planning, analysis and problem-solving and customer service.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

    Salary & Benefits

    This is an exempt, monthly paid position. Annual salary will be commensurate with experience up to $98,900.00.
