Claire Trevor School of the Arts is UCI’s center for innovative, creative engagement in art in all of its facets: production, critique, appreciation, and development. The School’s work focuses on creativity—but not just on creativity: our mission integrates all levels of education (from B.A. and B.F.A. to M.F.A. to Ph.D.) with arts advocacy and leadership, engagement with social and cultural issues, and partnerships with individuals and organizations locally, nationally, and internationally.

Under the general supervision of the Personnel Director in the Claire Trevor School of the Arts, the incumbent is responsible for providing on-going high level analysis of all staff personnel and payroll matters. This is a key staff position with respect to staff personnel and payroll matters. This position requires sound communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical and decision making skills, within a team environment. Applies professional human resources, organization policies and procedures to provide guidance to supervisors and managers to resolve a variety of human resources issues of moderate scope and complexity.

Compensation Range:

Hourly: $24.23 - $36.93

3-5 years of experience in personnel administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations; demonstrates organizational skills and problem-solving skills. Has working knowledge of other areas of HR.

Basic knowledge of human resources policies and programs, and how they affect other organizational policies and procedures.

Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures and knowledge of functional area.

Demonstrated ability to handle difficult or volatile situations / individuals effectively.

Positive work attitude, willing to work as a cooperative and collaborative team member.

Demonstrated skill to assess priorities in order to complete work in a timely manner in an environment of deadline constraints, competing priorities, and heavy and changing workload.

Knowledge of a human resources management system (HRMS), and / or other related business software programs and systems.

Proficient in communicating clearly and effectively verbally and in writing and in integrating information in the completion of assignments.

Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with campus administrators, faculty, staff, and students from a variety of ethnic, social, and educational backgrounds and to provide information, identify problems, and develop solutions.

Demonstrated experience working with confidential information and using sensitivity, tact and discretion in internal and external communications.
