The Doctor of Physical Therapy Division (DPT), the DukeSports Science Institute, and the Department of Orthopaed ic Surgery at DukeUniversity seek to recruit a research scientist in the area of humanmovement/motion analysis.This appointmentis housed in Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Duke University within t heDPT division. The ideal candidate exhibits strong collaborative skills , adiverse history of independent and/or collaborative (i.e. Co-investig ator)governmental and private funding success and scholarship in varying areas ofmovement science, engineering, orthopedics, and sports medicine . The research wouldbe based in the Michael W. Krzyzewski Human Performa nce Lab (K-Lab), a state ofthe art movement science laboratory. < /p>
Qualifications forthis research sci entist position include:
- < li>Candidates must have anearned doctorate (PhD or equivalent such as Sc.D., M.D., D.V.M.) in kinesiology, bio-mechanics, sports science, bio-engineering, or another closely related area; li>
- 5+ years of postdoctoral experience conducting scientif ic research independently;
- Multiple publica tions and notable significant contributions to scientific research;
- Experience working with a diverse professional popu lation (e.g., MD’s, physical therapists, athletic trainers).< /li>
Salary is commensurate withqualification andexperience. Candidates selected for an interview will be asked to provide abrief synopsis of past movement science/sports orie nted research.
