The mission of the Boston University Center for Antiracist Research is to convene varied researchers and practitioners to figure out novel and practical ways to understand, explain, and solve seemingly intractable problems of racial inequity and injustice. We foster exhaustive racial research, research-based policy innovation, data-driven educational and advocacy campaigns, and narrative-change initiatives. We are working toward building an antiracist society that ensures equity and justice for all.

The BU Center for Antiracist Research founded in 2020 by Dr. Ibram Kendi, the Center is rapidly growing and looking for passionate individuals to join their dedicated staff.

This role reports to the Managing Director and works alongside a collaborative team of the Center's core administrators. The individual will have primary responsibility for processing student internship appointments; collecting account information; processing initial updates to appointments; verifying accuracy of data in the Center and BU’s databases and resolving discrepancies. Other duties include processing internship offer letters; assisting with the preparation, review, and submission of foundation grant proposals, ensuring compliance with foundation requirements and BU’s policies and procedures; providing financial and budgeting support to the Grant Administrator; also track sophisticated multi-year financial obligations, such as internal commitments and allowances; organizing and tracking documentation for quarterly confirmation process; overseeing financial account activity including the timely procurement of goods and services; payment of invoices; verification of charges to BU purchasing cards and acquiring all the necessary backup; interacting with BU's central administrative offices, including Travel, Procurement and Sourcing, etc. and other tasks as requested

Required Skills

Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years’ experience required. Strong computer skills including knowledge of and experience with Word and Excel. Familiarity with Concur and SAP experience preferred. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; and ability to prioritize in fast paced environment and work with tact and discretion.
