Vice President for University Advancement

Linfield University invites nominations and applications for the position of Vice President of University Advancement. The Vice President reports to the President, is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive university advancement programs, and serves as one of five members of the President’s Leadership Team.

Established in 1858, Linfield University is an independent, comprehensive institution of higher education known for its strong teaching faculty (12:1 student-to-faculty ratio), international study opportunities (37% of students study abroad) and professional programs (e.g., School of Nursing, School of Business, elementary education) – as well as college football’s longest streak of consecutive winning seasons, at 64 years. The university is ranked among the first tier of national liberal arts colleges and is fully accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Linfield offers 56 majors to approximately 1,989 students in their residential campus (1,414) in McMinnville, Ore., in the nursing program (337) in Portland, Ore., and the Online and Continuing Education Program (238). Linfield students represent 23 states and 20 countries, with the majority coming from the Pacific Northwest. The main campus is located on 189 park-like acres just south of charming, historic downtown McMinnville.

The new VPUA will a seasoned advancement professional who is excited and energized by the mission of Linfield University, by the University’s vision for the future, and by a belief in the transformative power of higher education. The successful candidate will be committed to relationship-based advancement work that values authenticity, integrity, and personal engagement. A strong record of leadership and accomplishment, and documented success in fundraising that spans annual giving, major gifts, and campaign leadership is required. A minimum of 10 years of advancement experience is expected, a bachelor’s degree is required and master’s degree is preferred.
