Preferred Qualifications

Applicants with related research experience and interest in the reducing mental health disparities, understanding interpersonal and racial trauma among Black adolescents, and/or culturally adapting evidence-based treatments preferred.

Position Summary

The Research Coordinator will provide research-related supervision and oversight within the EMPOWER Lab. This position will be responsible for helping with administrative tasks, coordinating Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, coordinating grant funded data collection, assisting with EMPOWER Lab and UGA Psychology Clinic collaboration focused on clinical-community approaches to healing from racial trauma, and conducting literature reviews and compiling references towards manuscript publication, conference presentations, and grant submissions.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

•Excellent writing skills, organization skills, and careful attention to detail.
•Advanced technical skills e.g., Canva, Captivate, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word.
•Ability to take on leadership for assigned work related tasks, both independently and as part of a team.
•Coursework in quantitative, qualitative mixed and/or advanced research methods.
•Ability to manage one’s time and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
•Ability to work successfully under strict deadlines, and accommodate change.
•Understand and follow policies and procedures, including handling confidential materials with discretion.
•The ideal candidate for this position will have an interest in and commitment to understanding interpersonal and racial trauma, racial socialization, cultural competency in treatment, HIV and substance misuse among African Americans.
•Experience with EndNote preferred.
•Grant writing experience is also preferred.
