JOB SUMMARY: Middle Georgia State University (MGA) is seeking candidates for an Assistant Professor of Information Technology in Cybersecurity or Software Engineering for a 10-month tenure track teaching position in the Information Technology Program. The primary teaching responsibility will be in the area of Cybersecurity or Software Engineering at the undergraduate and graduate level. The applicants should also be able to teach a variety of IT core and elective courses within the IT program (http://www.mga.edu/it). Teaching responsibilities may include day and or evening classes. Travel between campuses (Cochran, Dublin, Macon and Warner Robins) will be required. Online teaching experience is required. In addition to teaching, job requirements include service to the institution; and an active research and scholarly activities leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals.
MGA is a 4-year public, Master’s level university. Middle Georgia State University was formed through the consolidation of Macon State College and Middle Georgia College in 2012. Serving over 8,000 students, the University encompasses all five campuses of the prior two institutions with campuses in Cochran, Dublin, Eastman, Macon, and Warner Robins. Middle Georgia State’s Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program is accredited by ABET. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a doctorate in IT or related disciplines with at least 18+ hours of graduate course work in the field of IT as well as a reasonable record of teaching and scholarship that warrants appointment at the rank of assistant professor.
