Assistant Professor- Pediatric Interventional Radiologist

University of Colorado School of Medicine Department of Radiology is seeking a fellowship-trained, CAQ eligible, Pediatric Interventional Radiologist. The Department of Radiology consists of 24 board certified pediatric radiologists. Currently, a subset of 4 pediatric interventionalists perform 3000 procedures per year. Pediatric Radiologists practice in Children’s Hospital Colorado. CHCO is in the process of building a new interventional radiology department that includes two interventional suites and is slated to open in 2020. CHCO is a free-standing children’s hospital affiliated with the University of Colorado School of Medicine. The CHCO network of care covers 585 beds and is consistently rated in the top 10 Children’s Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report

This physician will perform diagnostic and therapeutic pediatric interventional procedures on a daily basis at CHCO. Call responsibilities are typically every fourth night and weekend. Fellow, resident, and medical student education in both an outpatient and inpatient setting are critical components of the position.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications

  • Medical Degree or equivalent, Colorado Medical License 
  • ABR Certification or eligible 
  • Interventional Radiology Fellowship Training 
  • CAQ eligible
Required CompetenciesCompetency is required in the performance of diagnostic arteriography, vascular intervention, oncologic intervention including intra-arterial and percutaneous therapies, biliary, genitourinary, and GI intervention.  Specific experience in application of listed competencies in the pediatric population will be necessary. Preferred QualificationsPediatric Radiology and/or Pediatric Interventional Radiology Fellowship Training.  The individual would have a proven interest in clinical research, and bench research is a strong possibility.Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
