The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Nephrology at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans is seeking a PhD scientist for a full-time academic Assistant Professor position with our faculty group.  The position can lead to tenure with Tulane University.

The Section of Pediatric Nephrology at Tulane has active NIH supported research programs that are focused on the molecular regulation of kidney development.  The Section is also a participant in multiple NIH and national clinical trials focused on pediatric renal diseases. The Research Assistant Professor will design and conduct research on the molecular mechanisms of pediatrics renal disease. The candidate is expected to be highly self-motivated with excellent communication skills. The job responsibilities include experimental design, data collection and interpretation, and presentation in professional meetings and publication in peer reviewed journals.

The Department of Pediatrics at Tulane is committed to providing excellence in education, clinical care, and research. The selected candidate will become actively involved in all aspects of teaching including training medical students and residents. 


Ph.D. degree in Biological Sciences or related field with extensive research experience in genetics, molecular biology, and/or developmental biology. Experience with mouse genetics also preferred.
