The Department of Dentistry at the University of Virginia School of Medicine invites applications for a full-time general practice dentist with a broad spectrum of clinical abilities and hospital experience at the rank of Assistant Professor. In terms of hospital experience, this can be via a previous residency or current employment. The incumbent would be a UVA School of Medicine faculty member associated with our CODA accredited GPR. As is the case with other full-time faculty, the incumbent would have clinical care responsibilities, both in terms of direct care of patients and supervision of residents in their provision of care. Direct and supervisory care would take place in outpatient clinic facilities, the operating room, and the hospital. This position would also share didactic teaching responsibilities as part of patient rounds and residents' conference sessions. In addition, the incumbent would participate in weekly rounds including afterhours and weekend call rotation. Administratively, the full time faculty all share various administrative assignments in the department. The incumbent will be responsible for the Safety/Quality Officer position for the department and will participate in the department and residency management processes. As a department faculty member, the individual would participate in monthly faculty meetings, curriculum planning meetings, resident evaluation sessions, etc.

Candidates must have a DDS from an ADA accredited School of Dentistry and a Virginia Board of Dentistry license or be eligible for such via reciprocation from another Board exam.

Compensation consists of a base salary with opportunity for incentives.
