The Chen Lab at the University of Kentucky has a postdoctoral position open to study the glial response to central nervous system injury. We are in the Spinal Cord & Brain Injury Research Center and affiliated with the Department of Neuroscience. We study how glial cells contribute to the repair of the central nervous system, by using a combination of mouse genetics, experimental central nervous system (CNS) injury models, mouse behavioral assays, and cellular and molecular biology. We are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic, and collaborative candidates. Nuclei of research interests in neurotrauma, aging-related neurodegeneration, and neuroscience at the University of Kentucky provide a stimulating environment and ample opportunities to collaborate across displines. Recent Ph.D. graduates of neurobiology, cellular and molecular biology, or relevant research background will be preferred. Qualified candidates are encouraged to email the principal investigator, Dr. Chen, at [email protected] with a CV, description of research interests, and contacts of three references.Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
