Responsible for identifying and solving business problems, supporting strategic retention efforts within Student Financial Services (SFS). This position elicits business requirements, prepares technical documentation, business process flows, use cases and diagrams of existing and proposed processes.

The Associate Director is an experienced system administrator and systems analyst. A deep understanding and thorough documentation of the existing process and proposed new processes are critical for the success of this position and the department. In conjunction with other team members and systems analysts, the Associate Director acts as a technical lead and subject matter expert in the development and delivery of new and enhanced business systems.

Essential Functions of the Position:
  • Leverage generated data, existing campus software, and future technology solutions to improve retention and student satisfaction.
  • Expand, enhance and deploy early alert predictive models in available software solutions that can be used by a wide-array of campus users.
  • Identify areas of technological and process improvement that support the strategic retention focus.
  • Produce models in conjunction with data analysts.


Other Responsibilities:
  • Understand the design impacts on reporting, population selections, and financial aid analytics.
  • Ensure that any data integrations between systems are functioning properly and reconcile any inconsistencies.
  • Lead project tasks associated with the implementation of associated auxiliary systems and integrations.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Be able to work largely independently, but when needed, also needs to collaboratively work with a wide range of stakeholders
  • 3 years of experience with business process modeling techniques and tools
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Possess excellent organizational skills
  • Have strong communication and presentation skills
  • Exceptional analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of business process documentation and database management
  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Knowledge of application security best practices
  • Demonstrated querying and database administration experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Have a broad understanding of the student life cycle and how it relates to system design and functionality, as well as how each system relates to other institutional systems and third-party systems
  • 3-7 years of professional work experience as a business or systems analyst in an Enrollment Management department
  • Master degree
  • Knowledge and advanced usage of a Slate admission system
  • Experience utilizing retention and student alert software, specifically Maxient
  • SQL knowledge and experience writing complex database queries
  • Experience with a business intelligence tool, Cognos preferably


Grade of Position: A17E

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36.25

Hiring Range: $73,550.00 - $77,100.00
