Under the general direction of the Director of Counseling, Technology, and Student Employment, the Senior Systems Manager is responsible for providing technology support services for LAN and PC applications to all department users; coordinating daily systems operations and batch production scheduling; designing programs, systems, procedures, and reports that will enhance operational efficiency and administrative decision making; and for overall design, style and maintenance of the Office of Student Financial Services (OSFS) website. The position is responsible for the administration of all OSFS PC applications and works closely with the office of University Information Systems (UIS) to ensure that all aspects of OSFS technology operate in a consistent, efficient,and timely manner. This involves capacity planning, developing and maintaining documentation and disaster recovery programs, monitoring, backup and recovery, installing new software and upgrading existing software.

This position will work with all OSFS staff to automate routine tasks and provide training on the use of software applications and office equipment. It will create and maintain the OSFS production schedule and works closely with the Department of Education and College Scholarships Services in developing and maintaining interfaces to upload and download information to and from the Banner Student Information System. It will work closely with other OSFS Staff to created-hoc reports using our current reporting application, Cognos, and population selection (Popsel) queries in Banner. This position is responsible for the overall design, style and maintenance of the OSFS website.

It will maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and trainings, reviewing operational and professional publications, and establishing personal networks. The position will recommend information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by identifying problems, evaluating trends and anticipating requirements.

Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree and two to three years experience in systems coding, development, and testing.
  • Experience in supporting PC/LAN hardware and software.
  • Experience with troubleshooting computer hardware, software and operatingsystems.
  • Knowledge of Banner Student Information System,reporting utilities such as COGNOS and Blackboard Analytics for report writing,PC operating systems, popular office software such as MS Office Suite, web development and experience supporting and maintaining a desktop environment.
  • Knowledge of financial aid operations and industry software such as Dept. of Ed, SIAG-Gateway, COD and WEB related applications.
  • Communication skills and a strong service orientation are essential.
