To ensure high quality Fire Protection services are provided to William & Mary community.Required Qualifications
•Have working knowledge of operations and maintenance for all types of Fire Sprinkler Systems, and capable of minor repairs to various systems.
•Strong working knowledge of Life Safety and NFPA Codes.
•Ability to apply judgement, knowledge, training and experience to assess and determine compliance, collect and review data, and determine appropriate course of action.
•Uses various instruments, methods and processes requiring some analytical skill and judgement.
•Ability to apply complex standards to situations and present suggested course of action.
•Good to excellent verbal and written communication skills, working knowledge of MS Office Suite, especially MS Word and Excel processing and database computer program skills.
•Possess a valid driver’s license.
•Be knowledgeable of basic hazardous material response procedures.
•Ability to enforce proper safety practices at all times.
•Must be able to achieve NICET Certification within first year of employment.
•High school graduate or equivalent required.
•Any NICET Certification
•Have working knowledge of Fire Alarm and Detection Systems.
•Have basic working knowledge of Kitchen and Clean Agent Fire Suppression Systems.
•Have a working knowledge of operation and maintenance for Portable Fire Equipment and Emergency Exit Lighting Systems.
•Demonstrate working knowledge for Fire/Smoke Dampers per NFPA Codes.
•Understanding of contract administration procedures and the state procurement process.
•Contract negotiation experience.
