Job Description Summary
Manages the development and implementation of programming for over 1500 students and post docs with children, including oversite of general family programs and the facilitation of specialized support programs for student parents. Manages 3-4 Family Fellows and oversees their performance management, programming and social media training, and assists with fellows operations training. Manages communications, including promotional materials and newsletters, and oversees the development and implementation of the center's social media strategy. Manages the Family Center memberships, processes applications and benefit approvals, oversees administration of the membership database (over 650 active members). Assists with managing Family Center website content and the Event Management System, delivers staff training on web tools, and assists with upgrades and web development when necessary. Assists with student advising, co-manages the Family Center advisory board.

Job Description

Responsibilities: The Associate Director oversees the development and management of programming to support students and post docs with children and their families. The Associate Director manages Center communications, including the website, newsletters, and social media presence. The Associate Director manages Family Center memberships including: database oversight, application and benefit approvals, and membership inquiries. This position will assist with managing the operations of the Family Center and will supervise 3-4 student workers.

Qualifications: Master's Degree preferred; minimum 2-3 years of professional experience, preferably working with families and children. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a sensitivity to the needs and concerns of diverse groups of students. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with administrators, faculty, and student leaders. High level of organizational and administrative skills. Excellent writing and presentation skills. Experience in program planning, staff supervision, communications, and social media management, website content management. Knowledge of Penn systems a plus.
