The Sr. LPN - Medications, under the supervisionof a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, or physician, participates in theplanning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care in the Lewis KatzSchool of Medicine’s OB/GYN department and it’s satellite offices. Theincumbent functions as a member of the health care team by exercising soundnursing judgment based on knowledge, skills, and past experiences in nursingsituations.


Responsibilities include: obtaining patient information forassessment of patients’ conditions, and documenting pertinent information intothe patient’s electronic medical record (EPIC); providing nursing care topatients including taking vital signs; providing clinical review, including butnot limited to, chart prep and review and lab/radiology follow-up; providingpatient liaison services, and ensuring our patients receive timely and accurateanswers to any questions that may arise; working closely with clinicalproviders to ensure timely execution of testing and indicated follow-up;taking patient history, placing orders, and informing provider asnecessary about clinical issues gleaned from patient interview; assisting withscheduling diagnostic tests/procedures; assist with the administration anddocumentation of patient care; set up procedure room for appropriateprocedures such as biopsies, cyctoscopies; assist with and performurodynamic procedures. administering medications (except I.V. meds) ordered forthe patient and documenting pertinent information including effect ofmedication on patients’ chart; performing venipuncture's as needed; collectingand correctly labeling laboratory specimens as needed; participating in patientconferences and educational programs for the improvement of patient care;participating in the implementation and documentation of experimentalstudies/research projects in collaboration with other healthcare personnel.Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Education and Experience: 
Practical Nurse Licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and at leasttwo years’ related experience in an office or hospital setting in women’shealth. 

Required Skills and Abilities:
 
*Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office software programs. 
*Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability towork with a diverse population of patients, faculty, staff, and students. 
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
*Ability to operate all standard medical office and clinical equipment. 
*Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and ability to be detailoriented. 
*Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 

Preferred: 

*OB/GYN preferred.
*Demonstrated working knowledge of EPIC software. 

*Bilingual Spanishspeaking preferred.
