Institute for Human Development - Individual Advocacy and Family Support Team

Job Description The UMKC IHD has a full-time {100% FTE) research leadership position available. This Senior Research Assistant/Associate will join the Individual Advocacy and Family Support Team at the Institute. This role is highly collaborative and is a key contributor to the successful development and expansion of the research, training and knowledge translation goals focusing on person- centered supports for individuals with developmental disability. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Senior Research Assistant/Associate will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the implementation of project activities, collaborate/ advise faculty and other research staff, and managing projects focusing on self-advocacy, self-determination and family support. Appropriate activities includes working with project partners, creatively and independently establishing project objectives, developing training on best practices, and demonstrating competency in investigation, and/or development, implementation, and evaluation of projects.

Minimum Qualifications Senior Research Assistant - Master's degree

Senior Research Associate – PhD

Preferred Qualifications Prior leadership experience of at least 5 years working within the fields of developmental disabilities or other social services, is preferred
