The Construction Trades Instructor is a part-time Continuing Education faculty member responsible for delivering instruction of the Building Construction Trades curriculum.
The instructor is responsible for maintaining instructional quality and effectiveness through constant and timely revision of course elements and syllabus to meet construction industry workforce demands. They are expected to stay current in the subject matter through professional development. The instructor will plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learning; employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to students, including strategies to meet diverse student needs. The instructor is also responsible for other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.Staff Required Education/Experience:Faculty Required Education/Experience Skills:
North Carolina General Contractor License and 5 or more years working in the construction industry.Desired Education/Experience/Skills:
Teaching experience. Journeyman status.Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be proficient in safety, tools, carpentry, masonry, cabinetry, drywall, building codes and inspections, restoration, estimating, sustainability, supervisory functions, energy options and energy efficiency.Department:Customized TrainingWork Hours:
