Job Description:


Reporting to the dean and working in collaboration/close consultation with SOE associate deans, the Licensure Placement Officer, is responsible for maintaining currency, integrity, and consistency in quality-control for SOE state-compliance and maintenance involving all official records for candidates in AIC educator preparation programs. Ensure effective systems and operations supporting candidate licensure for program entry, placement, completion, and licensure endorsement.


  • Responsible for verification of licenses and eligibility to enter the licensure program; entry of candidate MEPID numbers and enrollment in state-authorized licensure program into the state's ELAR system; entry of documented changes of candidate trajectory in ELAR towards program completion

  • Responsible for vetting licenses of supervising practitioners & program supervisors assigned to candidates for field experiences; secure, document, and timely communicate candidate pre-practicum and practicum placements; maintain electronic files of all program completers; endorsement of candidates in ELAR, and verification and confirmation of licensure requirements to external agencies and alumni inquiries related to licensure.

  • Assist analysis of candidate inquiries, mediate concerns related to licensure, and participate on candidate review teams.

  • Assist orientation of candidates and new personnel supporting candidate success in educator preparation programs.

  • Accurate report of AIC candidates endorsed for licensure required for campus/state submissions and annual reports;

  • Other duties as assigned.



Requirements:


  • Required Degree(s): Master's Degree
  • Preferred Degree(s): CAGS or EdS
  • Required Field of Expertise: Administrative experience with knowledge of state certification processes specific to licensure of candidates in higher education
  • Preferred Field of Expertise: Knowledge of Mass. Dept. of Elementary & Secondary Education ELAR system and state-regulations governing licensure.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities


  • Three to five years of related experience is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with a rich experience and commitment to working with diverse populations.
  • Strong technological and data-entry skills; knowledge of electronic systems
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to be flexible, resourceful, and adaptable to change.
  • Ability to mediate complex student concerns and communicate decisions in a timely, respectful manner.

Work Schedule


The Licensure Placement Officer is a full time, exempt level, benefit eligible position. Normal business hours are Mondays through Fridays, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, flexible to the needs of the department. Occasional evening and weekend work is required to meet reporting deadlines and to attend student orientations and/or open houses.
