Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Graduate Admissions, the Associate Director of Graduate Enrollment Operations is responsible for all aspects of graduate admissions operations for masters and doctoral programs at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering. This includes but is not restricted to, supervision and management of six full-time staff members and 30 graduate student employees, oversight of application processing using Slate (by Technolutions), creating and maintaining reports, and institutional aid awarding. The Associate Director will work with office leadership to meet graduate enrollment goals in accordance with the School and University’s strategic plan. This position plays a critical role in working closely with external vendors (mailing services, international credential evaluation, and new technology opportunities, for example) and university departments/offices (academic departments, Institutional Reseach, IT, Registrar, Bursar, Financial Aid).

Qualifications

Required Education:Bachelor's DegreePreferred Education:Master's DegreeRequired Experience:5-7 years in a university admissions office or related experience, managing and training staff and conducting a job search, implementing process change and designing workflow solutions.Preferred Experience:5+ years Graduate Admissions at a STEM institution, previous experience using PeopleSoftRequired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Must demonstrate excellent management, leadership, analytic, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency in Slate (by Technolutions), Microsoft Excel, and/or other data-base software used for report writing. Must be knowledgeable as to best practices regarding data management, reporting, application documents and verification. Must have proven skills in troubleshooting technical errors related to data management systems.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Familiarity with Department-based application reading process; knowledge of financial aid and scholarship models.
