SummaryThe administrative program coordinator is integral to a team that provides communication, programming, and services to encourage the successful transition of all first-year students to Tulane University. Specifically, this position supports the first-year experience team in the planning and execution of myriad programs designed to promote the academic success of all first-year students, to root them in the academic campus culture, and to improve student persistence. Additionally, the administrative program coordinator oversees the experiential learning opportunities, and accompanying faculty support, of a required first-year seminar program, with the aim of connecting course content to the New Orleans community. This person also arranges the faculty hiring, course scheduling, and fiscal monitoring of these 135+ seminars. Last, this position supervises a small team of student interns, providing monthly career conversations and guidance.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree and 1 year of directly related experience OR
- High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of directly related experience
- Bachelor's degree in related field;
- Demonstrated experience with initiatives supporting the successful transition of traditional-aged first-year college students;
- Demonstrated commitment to building programs and services with diverse student groups in mind; and
- Proven student-centered and customer-service oriented professionalism.
