Under general supervision of the Dean, is responsible for supervisory oversight of student registration, enrollment, employment and general counseling, retention, instructional support, and all other law school student services. Collaborates with the various student services staff in the development and adherence of standard operating procedures within the context of a formal system of operation. Provides advice and recommendations to the Dean regarding any issues related to student services, retention and instructional support. This includes application of “best practices” as related to any and all issues impacting student learning. Serves as active contributor to all student-related Strategic Plan initiatives.

Essential Duties Summary

•Oversees and assists in the development and implementation of best practice standard operating procedures within a formal system of operations for student services activities and support staff including the registration, enrollment, counseling, and assessment of instruction. Develops and maintains standards, including best practices for delivering outstanding services by and for students. Provides leadership on student-related strategic planning initiatives.
•Provides leadership and coordination for the law school’s counseling, faculty and student services advising, financial aid, professional development and mentoring activities.
•Provides leadership and coordination for assessment activities. Evaluates the need of support in instructional activities including blackboard, multimedia, online instruction, etc. and provides necessary assistance to faculty.
•Oversees student orientation programs, awards ceremonies and graduation activities.
•Oversees activities of student organizations with faculty organizations advisors.
•Performs other duties assigned.
