Job Description:

The OPS Marketing and Communications Specialist provides communications, marketing & event support to the HealthStreet program. With direction from the management, this position builds and protects HealthStreet’s brand identity, coordinating with the university’s various communications departments, media, production vendors, and other internal and external communications processes.

Duties include:

Coordinates HealthStreet’s events including "Our Community, Our Health", health education, health screenings, health fairs, support groups, speakers and guests. Assists with photo/video production needs, and works closely with UF Health Creative Services and UF Health IT.

Works with the Director of Operations at HealthStreet to coordinate marketing activities in the design, writing and layout of marketing and outreach collateral materials in a variety of media, including newsletters, brochures, fliers, advertisements, videos, and website content to support the missions of UF HealthStreet.

Promotes the visibility of HealthStreet’s program and initiatives through placing feature stories that impress and inspire in the media, social media, publications and UF Health websites. Creates testimonials and other promotional material to capture, impress and inspire the essence of our HealthStreet community members. Identifies potential arenas, including web links, professional journals and literature for promoting the HealthStreet program.

Expected Salary:

$17.00-$23.00 per hour, commensurate with education, skills and experience

Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree and three years of experience or an associate’s degree and five years in an appropriate area of specialization.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred candidates possess the following:

  • Writing proficiency, editing, proofreading, layout, and graphic design skills, and experience with WordPress
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude
  • Must be a confident communicator, organized and detail-oriented
  • Superior project and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet firm deadlines
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media
  • Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team toward organizational objectives
  • Event coordination experience
