Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for the overall coordination of the Graduate School of Education's (GSE) Independent School Teaching Residency Program, including the Boarding School and Day School Tracks. This program involves close coordination with 21 partner schools, nearly 100 students and their mentors, and about 30 full time and adjunct faculty members. The role supports the program directors and all associated faculty, directly reporting to the directors.
Job Description
Duties:
Responsibilities include the coordination of both programs around the following areas: student recruitment and admissions; management of student records and financial aid payments; program operations including procurement of materials and logistics for meetings and classes; event planning for large program meetings; payment of instructors, contractors, and suppliers; student registration and course work; communications with program community and alumni; PA state certification; student services; alumni network; school contracts and invoices. All of these responsibilities combine to ensure consistency in the operational functions of the program including the successful facilitation of class sessions and special events.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience with data management, event planning and coordination, and student support are preferred as is experience in an academic or non-profit setting. Strong communication skills and proven ability to build strong relationships with co-workers and outside vendors. Proven ability to learn internal database systems or demonstrated knowledge of university systems. Tech-savvy, flexible in proactively taking on additional responsibilities and maintaining confidentiality when needed. Ability to work evenings/weekends as needed.
