Purpose of Job:

Choral director will plan and direct all choral/vocal activities for the university. Faculty responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses.

Scope of Responsibilities:

Choral activities are vital part of the music program and university culture. The Director will conduct choral activities, develop other appropriate choral ensembles, recruit and retain students, develop relationships with community, alumni and manage budget. Some weekend availability is required. Teach scheduled undergraduate and graduate level classes and actively engage in research and creative activities.

Essential Job Functions :

Plan and direct all choral/vocal activities.
Coordinate recruiting, retaining and fundraising activities as appropriate.
Meet all scheduled classes on time.
Maintain all approved office hours.
Attend all faculty meetings and committee meetings as assigned.
Produce research or creative works.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. or terminal degree in Music Education or Music related field. Candidates with expertise in choral conducting will be given priority.

Possess excellent organizational skills
Possess excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate effectively
Knowledge and experience in using the latest music technology.
