Governors State University is seeking to hire a Building Service Worker for the Facilities Development & Maintenance department. The primary aim is to support the University in its mission of quality education by providing clean rooms, offices, corridors and restrooms; effective and safe cleaning practices, preserve the equipment, and extend the life of the structure.

This person must have the ability to comprehend basic written and verbal instructions. And must be able to pass background check and medical exam.

Shift: 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Rate of pay (during probationary period): $15.16 per hour
Rate of pay (after probationary period ends): $19.65 per hour

Minimum Qualifications

REQUIRED: A COPY OF YOUR CURRENT DRIVER’S LICENSE AND DOCUMENTATION CONFIRMING HIGH SCHOOL COMPLETION OR EQUIVALENT MUST BE ATTACHED FOR CONSIDERATION OF THIS POSITION, COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY TRANSCRIPTS MAY BE SUBSTITUTED (See “Special instructions to applicants” section below)

1. Must be a resident of the state of Illinois.
2. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
3. Must have a valid Illinois Driver’s License.

Preferred Qualifications

Training in the actual work, skills in using cleaning equipment.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:
Illinois residency is required.
