Educational and Experience Requirement
High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent. No experience required, but six months clerical experience is desirable. Two years of college preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position
Provides routine clerical duties for the Registration/Texas Success Initiative (TSI) and the Graduation/Transcripts/Degree Evaluator teams.

Primary Responsibilities
Processes registration requests based on current academic calendar dates and principle rules of registration, including the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) status and all other academic rules and policies. Assists with preparation of summer orientations through calls, emails, and organizing reports using basic Excel knowledge. Communicates effectively with all internal and external constituents. Assists with events during orientations. Processes student changes of majors using the Banner student module and degree plan exceptions for students in the Degree Works software system. Communicates any inappropriate requests or requests that are not in accordance with compliance with the university policy or degree plans and with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to students, parents, and/or academic departments, which may include academic deans and/or chairs. Proofreads production of commencement program. Completes tasks associated with the preparation of commencement ceremonies and degree awarding, including diploma printing and mailing, etc. Runs reports to identify erroneous data and cleanses data within the student information system (Banner). Assists with the academic transcript office duties. Handles additional duties such as scanning and indexing documents, processing incoming mail, and enrollment and degree verifications. Provides basic office support for time-sensitive special projects and provides front office coverage when needed. Assists the TSI evaluators and the Registration team. Requires focus and concentration on tasks where deadlines will be set and must be honored. Assists the degree evaluators with processes to maintain efficiency of degree plan records using the degree plan software system. Assists with dispersing official transcript records as needed and processing enrollment verifications. Requires research skills to determine compliance with university degree plan requirements. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Specifications
Position requires the use of software systems and data entry. Must have the ability to communicate effectively and professionally. Strong research skills are required. Requires accuracy in all duties. Work schedule may vary according to the department’s needs. Requires accuracy in finding files, entering facts or figures, and operation of office equipment. This position is part-time, benefits eligible, working 30 hours per week.
