Director of Admissions - Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies

Requirements

The Director of Admissions is responsible for Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies (SCS) recruitment efforts and management of the Office of Admissions. The position oversees the successful planning and implementation of all efforts related to admissions and recruitment of all degree programs, graduate certificate programs, and summer programs for high school students. The director works closely with various staff in programs and marketing areas to support the School's academic mission, and to grow programs to meet or exceed their goals for qualified newly enrolled and registered students each semester. This position works with the senior associate dean and director of marketing to align and optimize marketing and recruitment strategy and provides forecasts, analyses, strategic options, advice and recommendations regarding admissions strategy and enrollment planning. This position manages and monitors admissions operations and the work performance of admissions staff and directs the workflow of the application process. The director works with admissions advisors and admissions recruiters to ensure academic integrity in applicants and to ensure accuracy and efficiency in document and file processing. The director manages the business process, feeds, application layout, and functionality for software applications used by the Office of Admissions, including Salesforce/Target X (for prospect leads and application files). The Director is also expected to have exceptional data and analytical processing skills, which will contribute to sophisticate data analysis of enrollment trends. The Director represents the School to campus administrative units, liaises with the registrar's and financial aid office on integration with BANNER (student information system), serves on campus-level policy setting and advisory committees, and acts as a liaison for SCS with central campus administrative units. The ability to collaborate with SCS leadership, department and program heads to develop integrative approaches is vital to the role. The director is also responsible for staying abreast of industry trends, issues, and other relevant areas to best prepare SCS to reach its goals at present and in the future. The position requires analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, the ability to collaborate and to work under pressure during periods of high volume.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred)
  • 5 years' recent experience in an admissions environment within higher education.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. software helpful), and the ability to work effectively utilizing computer systems.
  • Strong ethical reasoning, integrity, interpersonal skills, and detail-orientation.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills
  • Demonstrated ability in providing very high levels of service, confidentiality, professionalism, and working well with details are extremely important skills for this position.
  • Ability to collaborate is essential.
  • Ability to prioritize work under high volume deadlines is essential.
  • Strong supervisory and management skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving is a must.


Preferred qualifications.
  • Ability to learn University software and prior knowledge of Banner and Salesforce/Target X preferred.
  • Ability to run reports in excel with forecasting and other statistical formulas.
