This position will report to the CFO in co-operation with the Executive Director of the Foundation. This position is to provide daily, monthly, and annual financial analysis, operation management, and reporting of the Foundation finances. In addition, this position will work on special projects as identified by the CFO.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide expertise in the areas of accounting and audit.
  • Assist with daily accounting functions including, but not limited to, monitoring and reconciliation of all Foundation accounts and some college accounts, journal entries, maintaining records to facilitate research and audit requirements, researching, reconciling and monitoring scholarships, grants, and special project activity.
  • Maintain records and accounting data of the Foundation’s investment portfolio, bank accounts, and gifts/grants made to Lee College Foundation (LCF).
  • Preparation and reconciliation of periodic scholarship donor reports, spending reports, and communiques regarding scholarship fund/account status.
  • Prepare recommendations and implement design of chart of accounts, account codes, and item types for scholarships.
  • Document operating procedures to comply with accounting standards and Foundation policies.
  • Responsible for preparation of Foundation board packet and financial management reports.
  • Coordinate with external accounting firm for preparation of tax forms.
  • Work directly with the external auditors to complete the annual audit in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and operational management of policies and procedures relating to all finance/accounting activities.
  • Provide daily financial analysis and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Contribute from a financial perspective to strategic planning, program development, implementation, and evaluate activities of the organization.
  • Provide Blackbaud cross-training to staff.
  • Utilize Blackbaud to its full capability.
  • Maximize the integration of Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge and Financial Edge.
  • Special projects as assigned.
  • Maintain foundation financials through dual mediums (PeopleSoft and Blackbaud) until we are confident in the blackbaud set-up.
  • Work with foundation board investment committee to establish comprehensive reporting practices.
  • Work in both the College’s and Foundation’s annual audit.
  • Write queries.
  • Write reports.

Additional duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Internal candidates only – Must be a current full-time or part-time employees of Lee College
  • Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Four (4) years accounting experience
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software required, and in particular, proficiency in Excel
  • Skilled at multi-tasking in a deadline oriented environment with various employees and constituents
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Hold a high standard of excellent, accuracy, and consistency
  • High personal integrity, honesty, and accountability
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends when required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Experience in a non-profit, foundation, or education environment
  • Experience with PeopleSoft or non-profit software
