Summary

With general oversight, the Supplier Diversity Manager is responsible for the conception, planning and development of internal and external outreach events and activities designed to enable Tulane University to meet its the supplier diversity utilization goals. This position is also responsible for the capture and measurement of diversity spend throughout the University and its subsidiaries for goods and services, professional services and construction.

The Supplier Diversity Manager is responsible for supplier diversity utilization, identification and engagement of diverse suppliers, and is the key person for tracking and compiling statistical information, in both reporting and real-time status, of the University's performance in supplier diversity efforts. This position will participate in conducting and attending minority and woman-owned program meetings, procurement/trade fairs, corporate supplier diversity networks, community-focused events and other outreach activities, and serves on related internal and external diversity committees where appropriate.

The Supplier Diversity Manager will prepare and distribute all scheduled and ad-hoc reports for diverse supplier activity; report on established goals and other metrics related to the University's supplier diversity utilization; maintain benchmarks and goals for diverse spend; and identify targets for participation in solicitations. This position will develop and implement tools to track diverse supplier usage; provide key support in the oversight of the certification and verification process for diverse suppliers; and assist Procurement Services staff in identifying diverse suppliers for inclusion in solicitations.

The Supplier Diversity Manager will provide guidance to the Procurement Services personnel in identifying key participation areas of spend that are available from MBE/WBE suppliers; participate in supplier diversity program procurement training to leadership, staff, stakeholders, and suppliers.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, public administration or a related field from an accredited college or university
• 5 to 7 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or other advanced degree in a related field
• Knowledge and proficiency with the Jaggaer procurement system
• Certification in one or more of the following is preferred: Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity (CPSD), Certified Purchasing Professional Manager (CPPM), or Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB)
• Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel and Microsoft Office Suite Products.
