Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology leadership team, he/she will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the assigned projects/programs in the Division to ensure that division and agency goals and objectives are met. The Coordinator will organize and plan the day-to-day of the program/project activities. He/she will serve as the liaison and point person for the projects/programs assigned and will interface with internal team members, key stakeholders, agency members, community partners, and other collaborators. He/she will maintain a comprehensive data set on training activities to report to key stakeholders. He/she will also support online activities to include web based education modules, CME certified training courses, podcasts, webinars, and related online training. The Coordinator will help curate best practices, support the project/program evaluator with conducting surveys and needs assessments for training. He/she will utilize online tools to collect data and will be charged with coordination of educational trainings as needed within the scope of the project/program. She/he will also be responsible for synchronizing activities, tracking project deadlines, arranging meetings, problem-solving issues and prepare and submit IRB applications and modifications as required. The Coordinator will also assist faculty and the leadership team with Power Point presentations, publications, and abstract submissions to present at annual conferences. He/she will also work on special projects as assigned by the Division Administrator.

Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced community educational and volunteer educational management program professional to resolve a wide range of program issues and needs assessments. Develops new community educational programs, and works on complex community educational programs or volunteer educational management programs of diverse scope. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for delivering courses, presentations and development programs. Receives general instructions and exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for course and instructional improvement. Fully knowledgeable in course subject matter and program.

Compensation Range:

$3,416.67 - $5,200.00

Minimum of two years of demonstrated experience working in Public Health, Gerontology, and vulnerable populations. Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Gerontology, Social Work or related area and / or equivalent experience / training. Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes Demonstrated knowledge of older, dependent, and disabled adults and the issues related to these populations Thorough analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills. Thorough knowledge of functional area and understanding of how work may impact other areas. Thorough and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and presentation skills.


Thorough knowledge of and skill in delivering programs. Knowledge of managing a portfolio of business and management courses at the university level. Skill in using business software systems in the completion of work assignments; i.e. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint. Bi-lingual English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, and other language. Thorough knowledge of organization policies and procedures. Thorough knowledge of current community educational programs and trends. Thorough skills to conduct needs assessment and development of new presentations / courses to meet organizational needs. Knowledge of or interest in learning/maintaining website and survey tools.

Special Conditions Required:

Occasional overtime, weekend, and evening availability may be required Frequent travel to off-site meetings and work related events.
