This is a critical position largely responsible for the design and maintenance of the HR division’s customized Drupal (website) content management system. Other important functions include consulting and advising as needed on a variety of sophisticated technology needs. This position coordinates closely with other HR Communications & Technology team members and partners to develop creative and effective technology solutions. Must be responsive to individual and department needs related to technology and data requests, including “just in time” web content and data/reporting needs. Expected to bring to bear technology insights to help refine and enhance internal processes and to complement and support employee-focused initiatives across the institution.
Continue following UK brand standards and PR web standards for future implementation efforts. The HR website has a wide variety of users: UK employees, former UK employees (retirees), and non-UK employees (applicants). The site should be usable for
these user groups as well as adapting to a variety of ages and education levels. Utilize iterative design methods to be more productive during the development phase.
Consult with department management and staff on projects of all scales and sizes, bringing to bear diverse technological background to help refine and enhance internal processes to continually improve the way we do business in these areas. Take initiative to improve existing systems and styles and ways of doing things, for better work output and work output quality of self and others. Be responsive to individual & department needs related to technology and data requests, including managing urgent requests.
The ideal candidate will be highly skilled at designing and building websites designed with user experience in mind to accomplish division goals while serving the many constituencies who rely on an up-to-date website.
