Position Description:
The leaders of the UCLA Depression Grand Challenge, a campuswide initiative, which has its goal the ambitious goal of cutting the burden of depression in half by 2050, seek to hire an individual with management consulting experience to serve as an Internal Project Consultant. The Project Consultant will report to both the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research/Executive Director of the Depression Grand Challenge and the Director of the Depression Grand Challenge.

There are several project consultants on the Depression Grand Challenge team, each brought on to the team for a short-term period. The Project Consultants generally have three primary responsibilities: (1) Assessment functions in which the person will serve as the lead of a projects involving conducting financial, structural and operational assessments of specific functions within the Depression Grand Challenge (DGC), which might include parts falling under one of four components (see the DGC website for more information); (2) Strategy and Implementation functions involving information gathered from the assessment phase or de novo, with the specific purpose of furthering the DGC objectives and potentially carrying such project from inception through implementation; and (3) Other Special Projects which might be operational, procedural, or relationship driven.

The successful candidate will have a natural client orientation and experience having been entrusted to serve and demonstrated success as a primary client contact on multiple management consulting engagements.
