Job Description:


Pharmacy Technician Instructor: Pharmacy Technician Program, Hybrid course, Center for Corporate and Community Education; 15 hours per week

Summary: Seeking Non-credit instructor needed to develop and teach Pharmacy Technician course, which prepares students to take the National Certification Exam to become PTCB certified. Topics include: Pharmacy medical terminology, pharmacy calculations and measurements, practice in multiple environments, reading and interpreting prescriptions, defining drugs, dosage calculations, drug classifications, I.V. flow rates, sterile compounding dose conversions, aseptic techniques, and handling of sterile products.


Anticipated Start Date: October 2020


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develop classroom curriculum and secure clinical setting for students
  • Recruit and screen potential students. Facilitate the application and enrollment process
  • Plan, coordinate, manage and direct the classroom curriculum, skills lab, and clinical setting training experience for students
  • Evaluate interpersonal skills, technical skills and knowledge base of students in the classroom, skill lab and clinical setting at regular intervals to measure student performance
  • Maintain confidential, accurate and complete records and reports as required by state standards
  • Responsible for efficient and effective use of supplies and equipment
  • Complete and submit course records and reports in a timely manner in compliance with applicable guidelines


Requirements:


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited pharmacy program and hold a current Ma Pharmacist license with a minimum of one-year pharmacy work experience; or a Bachelor's degree, preferably in life/health science and certification as a pharmacy technician with a minimum of 4 years' experience
  • A minimum of one 1 year of teaching or training experience is required
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required
  • The ability to establish a rapport with students and maintain an environment that supports learning and promotes student retention
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Must be able to teach Live/Remote

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Adult Education experience
