Job Description Summary
Primary responsibilities will include development on the Integrated Neurodegenerative Disease Database (INDD) and providing IT support to the Center staff. This will include creating and updating database forms, implementing querying strategies, and assisting with the sharing of data between internal and external collaborators, as well as acting as a liaison with UPHS, PMACS, and UPenn to solve software/hardware support issues on local users' machines, printers, phones, and other devices. Secondary responsibility will be to work with Center staff to update and maintain the content as well as upgrade the infrastructure of the Center's public facing website and intranet resources, also be a technological lead on how to best communicate and coordinate with external parties using social media, virtual conferencing, and be familiar with new workspace/networking technology to better facilitate the Center's internal working procedures.

This position is contingent upon funding.

Job Description

Secondary responsibility will be to work with Center staff to update and maintain the content as well as upgrade the infrastructure of the Center's public facing website and intranet resources, also be a technological lead on how to best communicate and coordinate with external parties using social media, virtual conferencing, and be familiar with new workspace/networking technology to better facilitate the Center's internal working procedures. This position is essential to maintaining and advancing our IT and infrastructure capacity, particularly with the funding of a new NIH Program Project Grant start date Sept 1 (~$1.6mil/yr). This essential nature of this position is critical to the working on the division and can be done remotely.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with 0-1 year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Computer Science or Biology/Genetics/Bioinformatics

Perform development on the Integrated Neurodegenerative Disease Database (INDD) using C#, JavaScript, HTML, and SQL on a ASP.NET framework with direction from Center staff.

Facilitate data collection, data import/entry, reporting, and quality control efforts of the medical research data with direction from Center staff by creating and updating database forms, implementing querying strategies, and assisting with the sharing of data between internal and external collaborators.

Provide local IT support for the Center by acting as a liaison with UPHS, PMACS, and UPenn to solve software/hardware support issues on local users' machines, printers, phones, and other devices, additionally making recommendations on upgrading existing and purchasing new software/hardware for the Center.

Work with Center staff to update and maintain the content as well as upgrade the infrastructure of the Center's public facing website, also be a technological lead on how to best communicate and coordinate with external parties using social media, virtual conferencing, and other technologies.

Work with Center staff to update and maintain the content as well as upgrade the infrastructure of the Center's internal intranet resources, additionally implementing new workspace/networking technology to better facilitate the Center's internal working procedures.

Perform additional duties as assigned.
