This position would act as a liaison between the staff, physicians, fellow DME Coordinators and the DME Program Manager.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Education of MA’s and ATC’s in the proper policies and procedures
- Education of MA’s and ATC’s in the proper measuring and fitting of braces
- Act as a facilitator for the clinical staff and physicians for braces that may need to go outside of the University of Colorado Department of Orthopedics
- Act as a liaison for the doctor and the brace representatives
- Responsible for updating and maintaining educational materials provided for theclinical staff and Providers.
- Assist Staff and physicians in problem solving in regards to type of brace and fitting that best suits the patient and their situation
- Responsible for reviewing paperwork to make sure that it is filled out and correctly sent to billing.
- Report any abnormalities in the forms to the DME Program Manager.
- Responsible for maintaining proper inventory
- Responsible for reconciling the inventory to assure that we are billing everything that is taken off of the shelf
- Responsible to report any abnormalities in inventory to the DME Program Manager so they can be addressed
- Act as a facilitator for new product that the physician would like to have added to inventory.
- Responsible for trouble shooting any and all problems that effect DME at coordinators office.
- Maintain all documentation regarding DME
- Responsible for all packing slips being sent to billing so that the invoices can be paid and paid correctly.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining positive relationships with the physicians, staff, and other corporate staff
- Assist in the continuing development of the DME Guidelines for the MA’s, ATC’s, Physical therapy staff, and Physicians.
- Responsible for communicating physician needs to the DME Program Manager
- Assist patient with direction to resolve billing problems
- Maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of work

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a related field
- Valid driver’s license for travel to meetings and between offices as needed.
- ATC, COF or OTC Certification
- At least one to three years of experience in the medical field
- Evidence of ongoing continuing education
- Knowledge of physical rehabilitation theory, types of orthopedic surgeries and current therapies for orthopedic related conditions.
