Working Hours:

Working hours for this position consist of a 7.5 hour period (between the hours of 8:00am and 7:30pm), exclusive of a 1/2 or 1 hour lunch. These hours to be agreed upon between the supervisor and employee at the onset of employment. Position normally requires working Monday through Friday but may require working occasional weekend hours based on the needs of the department. Will require working one to two evenings per week. Position may also require weekend work on occasion.

Summary:

The Testing Center Proctor serves as the primary Placement Test proctor and oversees the Testing Center during hours of operation. In addition, the person in this position serves as administrator and/or proctor as needed for PearsonVue, CLEP, TEAS, and/or other standardized tests administered at the college.

It is understood that the employee will be expected to perform all functions of this position as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Proctors a variety of computer-based and paper tests, including but not limited to placement tests, course exams, ATI-TEAS exams, CLEP, Pearson VUE and other testing as needed.
  • Maintains trainings and certifications necessary to proctor Accuplacer, CLEP, Pearson VUE, and TEAS exams.
  • Protects the confidentiality and security of all testing materials and other test documents while providing excellent customer service.
  • Understands, adheres to, and enforces FERPA guidelines.
  • Performs data entry and assists with regular staff duties, such as filing, scanning and emailing exam information. Also orders all testing and room supplies.
  • Provide administrative support as needed for the Welcome Center.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Services and/or Director of Admissions and Enrollment Services.

Education and/or Experience:

Required

  1. High school diploma.
  2. Previous student services experience at a college.

Preferred

  1. Associates degree from an accredited college or university.
  2. Bilingual communications (reading, writing and speaking) in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
  3. At least one-year experience in a higher education testing environment.
Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Internet skills. Knowledge of Ellucian Colleague or other administrative software a plus.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Excellent communication and public speaking skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work well with people. Excellent written communication skills especially in the areas of report writing and business correspondence. Knowledge of the Community College and Higher Education system.

Communication Skills:

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations.
