Job Description:

10% Executes various components of research studies to expand and enhance the competitiveness of existing Departmental research programs or to explore promising areas of future funding.

Helps to assess study feasibility and whether the site can or should undertake the specific study

Reviews and comprehends the protocol

15% Clinical Research Coordination

This position will be responsible for the oversight and conduct of these trials reporting directly to the principal investigator.

Maintains study timelines

Scheduling monitor visits and patient visits

Provide clinical care to participants enrolled in clinical trials

Tracking patient visits and the study activities required at each visit

Prepare advertising if needed

Screening patients and subjects for strict inclusion and exclusion criteria Obtaining informed consent

Retains all study records in accordance with sponsor requirements and University policies and procedures

Maintains effective and ongoing communication with sponsor, research participants and PI during the course of the study.

15% Assists with regulatory document preparation and review

Regulatory Binder, study specific source documentation and other materials Study guides and worksheets

Licenses, which must be annually updated for all, including for each lab that may be involved as well as for the study team

Form FDA 1572

CV’s for all those listed on the FDA 1572

Assists PI in preparation of any modifications to the scientific protocol in accordance with Federal regulations and University and sponsoring agency policies and procedures.

40% Performs protocol related clinical activities

Perform phlebotomy and blood draws from venous and arterial sites Obtain vital signs

Sample processing

Perform and prepare cultures and bodily specimen collection

Order and administer study related or investigational medication or the use of an investigational device under the supervision of an attending physician

Perform physical examinations

Screen patient subjects for adverse events

5% Coordinates monitor visits Preparing the case report forms

Making sure all source documents are available

Handling queries and edit requests promptly and courteously

Working as the liaison between the lab, pharmacy, radiology, administration, IRB and all other departments relative to the study

15% Supervision of Research Associates

Assists lead coordinator in supervising the efforts of emergency medicine research associates to ensure execution of various components of research and recruitment.

Ensures research associates are trained in executing all aspects of conduct of research as referenced above.

Expected Salary:

$33/hour

Minimum Requirements:

Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program and four years of professional nursing experience. Licensed as a registered nurse in accordance with Chapter 464, Florida Statutes.
