Position Summary:

This position involves supervised professional administrative work supporting undergraduate programs in educator preparation in the Mary Frances Early College of Education. Job duties center in program assessment and evaluation, orientation support, Banner/Athena processes, enrollment management, annual review of the programs of study and corresponding information on the college’s website, development and maintenance of program handbooks, assistance with field placement processes, responding to student inquiries, assistance with initial certification admissions processes, and general student communications.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Assist with data compilation, monitoring the schedule for key assessment completion, ensuring that faculty are administering and scoring key program assessments

Assist undergraduate academic advisor and program faculty with the general program orientation or routine block orientations, as needed; assist candidates with connecting with the Office of Academic Program to process preservice paperwork

Communicate with undergraduate academic advisors to share the specific CRNs for candidates within the program; ensure that candidates are enrolled in the correct sections to ensure data integrity for UGA supervisor and key assessment data collection for the PSC; remove students who are not in the program (as PODs will not be used); ensure that candidates are coded with the correct areas of emphasis to ensure data integrity into TPMS; manage major change requests once approved by faculty

Ensure that candidates within MAT and MEd programs are aware of requirements for teacher, leader, or service field certification; serve as a liaison with undergraduate academic advisors to ensure remaining core (within program limitations), history, and constitution requirements are completed prior to entry into professional learning sequence.

Assist program coordinators and the Office of Academic Programs with the admissions application (e.g., answer basic application questions, verify information (GPA), collating reference letters or other required documentation for the major application (e.g., tutoring logs); processing of decisions information back to the Office of Academic Programs; manage any waitlists for programs

Ensure syllabi from program faculty, part-time instructors, and graduate teaching assistants are uploaded into the syllabus system; assist faculty with routine review of content in CAPA and revise course elements/descriptions as necessary

Investigate ways to engage in contemporary communications (e.g., GroupMe, Remind 101) platforms to ensure that candidates are receiving updates from programs; maintain listservs; coordinate cross program meetings among program faculties that support one another’s academic programs (e.g., elementary, middle grades)
