FSUS is located in southeast Tallahassee, Florida, in the Southwood subdivision. Established in 1857, FSUS is a K-12 Developmental Research/Charter school under the auspices of Florida State University. The school provides research and development opportunities for educators, and also serves as a laboratory for teacher education. The 1700-student population demographic reflects that of a typical North Florida school site. Provides medical/health care services and education to the students, faculty and staff of Florida State University Schools while encouraging and promoting a healthy environment.

Coordinates the Health Science program in collaboration with other school RN and school leadership while ensuring compliance with Nursing Board Agreement.

Clinical Instructions for the Health Science 2 and/or Health Science 3/ Certified Nursing assistants class. Teaching hands on skills in a lab and classroom setting. Precepts Health Science 2 and/or Health Science 3 students in their clinical settings (nursing homes, hospitals or doctor's offices). Prepare lesson plans, test/quizzes, conducts skill assessments. Maintains grades and attendance in FOCUS.Coordinates curriculum with instructors involved in the program.

Provides nursing care, treatment and/or services to include: triage/ assessment of patient (FSUS students) physical, emotional and mental status. Provides illness/injury interventions which may include first aid and emergency response. Administers medication. Notifies parents in regard to health needs including referring students to appropriate services. Follow-up care provided as necessary. Provides health care counseling and education to patients. May serve as charge nurse, supervise and precept with approval.Qualifications High school diploma and four years of experience.

Must have three years of nursing experience, which includes one year experience in either Hospice or a Nursing home.

(Note: Higher Education may substitute for experience at the comparable rate.)
