Summary

Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Medical Research Technician for the Department of Pharmacology will perform cell culture and rodent experiments and analyze samples using RT-PCR, microscopy, and immunoblotting.  Additional duties include animal colony management, data organization and analysis; preparing posters and presentations; ordering laboratory supplies; maintaining laboratory inventory, records, and equipment; and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
          AND

  • 1 year laboratory in vivo and in vitro research experience including animal breeding, animal surgery, PCR, immunoblotting, and sterile cell culture techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years laboratory experience including in vivo and in vitro research including PCR, immunoblotting, and sterile cell culture techniques.
  • Experience with animal colony management and genotyping is desirable.
  • Experience performing in vivo experiments with rodents is desirable.
