Director of Compliance and University Privacy Officer

Summary

The Director of Compliance and University Privacy Officer for Tulane University will lead all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation and maintenance of the organization's privacy policies and practices in accordance with federal and state laws. The incumbent is responsible for managing overall development and coordinating implementation of the institution's privacy and data protection strategy and compliance plans in collaboration with the University's Security Officer, and for certain additional aspects of the Compliance Program.   He/She, under the guidance of the General Counsel, will be responsible for day-to-day oversight of the work of the University Steering Compliance Committee and working subcommittees as well as operational management of the University's Conflict of Interest programs for the Tulane Board, Tulane employees and Tulane's Institutional Conflict of Interest.  He/She will lead the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) compliance at the University.  He/She will also handle University immigration matters, on behalf of the General Counsel, review of employee eligibility for federal grants and other compliance functions as assigned. 

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in healthcare administration, business or closely related field.
• Five years of directly related healthcare compliance administration experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in healthcare administration or closely related field or J.D. degree from an Accredited law school.
• Experience in academic medical center.
