Job Description Summary:

A research technician position (Research Technician I or ll depending on experience) is available in Dr. Zhang’s lab at Husson University, School of Pharmacy. The candidate for this position will work on a FDA-funded research project to develop assays to study drug permeability and transport. The project uses in vitro cell model to study drug permeability and pharmacokinetic modeling tools to predict drug distribution in targeted tissues. Dr. Zhang’s lab focuses on translational research by combining in vitro assays and pharmacokinetic /pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) modeling software used in pharmaceutical industries and regulatory agencies to assess drug safety and efficacy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform cell culture and run cell permeability and transporter assays for small molecule drugs;

Assess expression levels of xenobiotic transporters in cells and tissues with Real-time PCR and Immunostaining/Western blot;

Prepare samples for quantitative HPLC and/or LC-MS/MS analysis of compounds in biological matrix;

Maintain laboratory research records of all experiments performed, analyze data, prepare reports, presentations and publications;

Education and Experience:

Required Qualifications

•Highly motivated and committed,
reliable, responsible, and dependable;
•Team player, good oral and written
communication skills;
•Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel,
and Power Point;

Desired Qualifications

•Experience of running cell permeability and drug transport assay;
•Experience of RT-PCR and Immunostaining/Western blot;


Basic Qualifications:
•Depending on salary grade, high school, associate or baccalaureate degree required with preferred research experience
