Instructional Technology and Media Specialist

The Instructional Technology and Media Specialist reportsto the Assistant Dean for Online Learning and Flexible Delivery.Responsibilities include collaborating with faculty on the use of instructionaltechnology to support effective teaching practices and high-quality educationalexperiences across the college. In addition, this position is responsible forconsulting with faculty to conceptualize, plan and produce high quality mediacontent to enhance curriculum and instruction across all delivery modes toimprove student equity and success.


Responds to faculty requests for instructional technology support.

Provides instructional technology and multimedia assistance to faculty.

Recommends effective instructional technology solutions to faculty.

Resolves ServiceDesk tickets (re)directed to Faculty Development and Engagement.

Consults with and assists faculty to produce presentation quality videos and content.

Designs, conceptualizes, coordinates, records, edits, and/or produces educational media.

Develops, produces, and maintains high quality instructional media for faculty development on the Faculty Development and Engagement website.

Assures high technical quality and accessibility of media products.

Curates the Faculty Development and Engagement website to maintain relevance and effectiveness.

Serves on the Faculty Excellence Team to provide additional instructional technology support and media expertise for faculty development planning.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in computer science, instructional technology, marketing, web development, or a related field.

Two years of experience in computer science, instructional technology, marketing, web development, or a related field.

Demonstrated experience with media and recording technologies (Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud, Kaltura, OBS, etc.).

Experience with learning management systems (Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle, etc.).

Experience with content management system publishing/management (Drupal, Joomla, WordPress, etc.).

General usability/accessibility knowledge (ADA Section 508, ARIA, Universal Design, WCAG, etc.).

Familiarity with office applications (Google Apps, O365, Zoom, etc.).

Accepts individual and team responsibilities and meets commitments. Takes responsibility for performance and actions.

Strong project management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Communicates well both orally and in writing.

Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
