Position Summary:

The incumbent will play a large part in the success of UCI Health's financial planning efforts strategic initiatives. This position enables financial and operational excellence by leading financial planning efforts and supporting strategic performance management programs that deliver sustainable, measurable changes across UCI Health. Builds and integrates financial projection analyses to support strategic initiatives and develops strategy and methods for providing financial management and planning information to senior executives, managers and clinicians. Serves as finance business partner to Medical Center departments providing operating budget and service line reporting development and analysis.

Required Qualifications:

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or related field

Ability to maintain an organized approach, clarity of purpose, and goal orientation in a rapidly changing environment involving multiple stakeholders of various levels from throughout the organization.

Must be results-driven to drive quantifiable results

Understanding of business planning including analysis, budgeting, feasibility studies, and implementation.

Ability to plan, set expectations (for self and others), and accomplish multiple objectives within specific timeframes.

Understanding of business planning including analysis, budgeting, feasibility studies, financial pro forma and return analysis

Internal or external financial consulting (or equivalent experience)

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a health system based environment working with decision support systems or relevant financial and operational analysis experience

Ability to manage risk and ambiguity on a project

Effective communicator able to understand the needs of a variety of audience members and tailor a message accordingly

Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.

Analytical ability to develop, analyze and interpret application of data.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in a related field

Experience with computer software programs such as EPIC or other registration programs

Knowledge of healthcare market, government rules and regulations

Knowledge of Action OI and other benchmarking platforms

Knowledge of Strata or other similar hospital budgeting and cost accounting systems

Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
