ITS – Information Services is looking for UK students to fill a technical support roles for the department. This position will report directly to the Information Services Manager and will serve in a variety of technical roles supporting the different areas of the University. While serving in these roles the position will rely on senior level support to help complete the assigned tasks.
The primary role is to work with customers in a technical support role. Roles can include using or learning the following technical skills: desktop support; hardware, software and application support; computer security support; user training; system documentation; system administration; the position will also support other departmental projects needs as required. Previous experience in all areas listed is not required to apply.
The ideal candidate will have a strong customer service mind set, have a willingness to be a part of a collaborative team environment, have a background in or want to learn technical skills, and have the desire to grow their technical skills while working on the UK campus.
The position will have the opportunity to work 10 – 20 hours per week during the semester, there are some options to work on Saturday and Sunday too. The position will support projects to meet department deadlines and will function as an integral part of the department while gaining skills to fill the same roles as the full time positions in the department.
