Position SummaryThe Population Health Analyst will conduct relevant data and analyses, research, evaluations, and assessments to inform strategic and tactical planning for the implementation of best practices in population health with the end-goal of improving student health outcomes at the University. The incumbent will also support the Assistant Director of Population Health in developing program or policy proposals and designing and implementing programs and services that enhance the Student Health Center’s community health initiatives.QualificationsRequired Education:Bachelor’s degreePreferred Education:Master's degree in public health, health policy, health care administration, public administration or related field preferredRequired Experience:2 years’ experience in data mining and data analytics work, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.Preferred Experience:Experience in public health, health policy, community health, or public administrationRequired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Strong critical thinking, reasoning, analytical and statistical skills, including proficiency in manipulating and analyzing data using sophisticated statistical software (such as SAS/SPSS) and extrapolate meaningful insights. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings from data analysis concisely and effectively to a wide range of audiences and through a variety of mediums. Strong attention to detail. Ability to research, review and analyze key external trends and influences from a wide range of information used to support the development of population health strategies. Demonstrated ability to work proactively, independently, and to maintain accountability for one’s work product.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Knowledge of population health; concepts of community health; and social determinants of health.Additional InformationNYU aims to be among the greenest urban campuses in the country and carbon neutral by 2040.
