The Culverhouse College of Business at the University of Alabama is seeking a candidate for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Economics in the Department of Economics, Finance and Legal Studies. Primary duties include teaching economics at the graduate and undergraduate levels, engaging in a research program that results in articles in outstanding scholarly publications, and performing service as assigned by the Department, College, and University. The position will start August 16, 2021.

Required Qualifications: A Ph.D. in economics or a closely related field is required. A demonstrated track record/potential for publication in high-quality economics journals is required.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with research and teaching experience in Applied Econometrics and/or Experimental Methods, that fit into one of the following Department priority areas:

Development Economics
Labor and Demographic Economics
Public Economics

The economics program offers degrees at the undergraduate, Masters, and Ph.D. levels. Our Masters programs include a full-time MBA, a STEM-pathway to the MBA, a weekend executive MBA program, and a one-year MA in Economics and MS in Finance. The department offers an excellent research environment including generous research and travel support, an active seminar series, and Ph.D. graduate research assistants. The Culverhouse College of Business was established in 1919 and is accredited AACSB International.
